CGŸ FIDDA Cup (2023):

Our first-ever Chun Gÿmnastics FIDDA Cup was undoubtedly a great success! CGŸ gymnasts competed with another 10 Sicilian Clubs.

2023 Competitions:

  • 61 girls representing CGŸ from various levels participated in the Easy Cup and Silver friendly competition organised by the ASD Millenium club in Risolini, Sicily where other Sicilian clubs also took part. It was a very successful competition for our participants and a wonderful experience for all involved. Chun Gymnastics aims to give more memorable opportunities to gymnasts training at beginner level. These are our. future gymnasts and would like to start building their experience and confidence in local and international competitions. Moreover, this opportunity was also given to our young judges to start building their knowledge in judging internationally. The friendly competition ended with a bonding activity at a tree-to-tree adventure park, keeping that little monkey inside our gymnasts alive (Jan 2023)

  • 62 of our gymnasts took part in the National Championships held at the National Sports School (March 2023)

  • COJI Small Island Games, Corsica - CGŸ gymnasts Riley Goodenough & Krysta Vella represented Malta (May 2023)

  • WAG Classic Challenge, Liverpool - In a competition for our junior team and team gymnasts, Krysta Vella shined on bars, leaving her in 2nd place in the Silver 12yrs+ category, whilst Martina Caruana placed 3rd on the floor, and Sarah Marie Attard placed 3rd on beam in the Silver 14yrs+ category. Khloe Ellul then placed 2nd in her category. (Sep 2023)

  • Mediterranean Artistic Gymnastics Championships, Istanbul - The 1st time a Maltese gymnast won a medal at these Championships. Philippa Busuttil achieved a Silver medal on the balance beam. She placed 6th all around, competing against gymnasts from the junior national teams of Italy, Turkey and Egypt. She also qualified for finals on Uneven Bars and Floor. (Oct 2023)

  • Malta Gymnastics Federation showcased its strength at the Granprix Vera Caslavske in the Czech Republic, sending four talented junior girls, one of whom was Sarah Marie Attard from Chun Gymnastics. Part of the Junior National Team, she will face tough competition from 15 nations, including powerhouses like the USA, Canada, and Australia. (Nov 2023)

2022 Competitions:

  • Gold Allieve in Catania, Sicily - Carla Azzopardi placed 2nd Overall in Level 1 & Abigail Fraser placed 4th Overall in Level 2 accompanied by coach Dario & Ms. Audrey (Feb 2022)

  • COJI Small Island Games, Majorca - The National team, including Chun Gymnastics’ Hannah Grech, placed 2nd in the Team qualification round (May 2022)

  • International Competition hosted in Malta - Krysta Vella, Riley Goodenough, Carla Azzopardi, Julia Vella, and Nicole Sciortino represented Chun Gymnastics in various categories. Carla Azzopardi placed 2nd on Vault, Bars, Floor and Overall in Category D 7-9 yrs (July 2022)

  • Over 60 participants representing CGŸ over various levels in the National Championships on the 17th of December 2022. Well done to all participants and the 82 medals that were brought home. (Dec 2022)

Previous International Competitions:

  • Glasgow Commonwealth Games - Peppijna Dalli accompanied by Mr. Chun (2014)

  • World Championship - Peppijna Dalli accompanied by Mr. Chun competed and placed 26th on Vault during qualifying stages (2015)

  • GSSE Iceland - Double happiness for Malta: Malta National Gymnastics Team placed Silver overall & Chun Gymnastics’ Peppijna Dalli placed Silver on Bars when competing individually (June 2015)

  • European Championships - Peppijna Dalli accompanied by Mr. Chun (2015)

  • Austrian Competition - Peppijna Dalli placed 15th on Vault and 18th on Bars (2015)

  • Liverpool competition - A group of 14 gymnasts competed in the Summer Sparkle Invitational in Liverpool in August 2018. The Maltese gymnasts competed against girls from seven UK Clubs, winning a total of 22 medals. (2018)

  • Chun Gymnastics’ JUNIOR TEAM competition in Ragusa, Sicily (Mid-November 2021)

  • Riley Goodenough had the opportunity to participate in the Allieve Gold 2 competition in Jesolo, Italy accompanied by coach Dario (Late-November 2021)

Annual Local Competitions:

  • National Championships (July 2021)

    • Chun gymnastics had 60 gymnasts taking part in the Maltese Gymnastics National Championships, ranging levels from grade 6 to FIG Senior, including 10 boys this year.
